Terms and Conditions of the Loyalty Programme called “Lidl Points”
Lidl Malta Limited (hereinafter “We”, “Lidl” or the “Company”) - in order to encourage awareness and sales of the products it markets – is launching the following loyalty programme (hereinafter the “Loyalty Programme”):
ELIGIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION
This Loyalty Programme is open, as from 30th April 2026, to adult end consumers (aged 18 or over) in Malta (each, a “User”).
To Participate, a User must download the Lidl mobile application (currently known as “Lidl Plus”) (the “Lidl App”), available free of charge via the App Store (for iOS devices), Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery (for Android devices) and register a Lidl Plus account by providing the personal data requested and accepting these Terms and Conditions.
Starting from 04/30/2026 a dedicated section relating to the Loyalty Programme will appear on the Lidl Plus homepage, through which Users may access detailed information regarding the Loyalty Programme. Upon first access to the Programme, all Users will be credited with 50 points.
The Lidl Points section of the Lidl Plus Home section contains detailed information regarding the Loyalty Programme.
EARNING POINTS
Users who visit a Lidl store and make a purchase of any amount, scanning their Lidl Plus digital card at the checkout prior to proceeding to payment, receive one (1) point for every one Euro (€1) spent on a single receipt, including multiples, calculated net of any Lidl discounts, Lidl Plus reward coupons/discount coupons and Excluded Products. Purchases eligible for the award of points shall be limited to a maximum of five (5) purchases per User per day. Any sixth purchase, and any subsequent purchase, shall not entitle the User to the award of points.
In the case of amounts with decimals equal to or greater than one Euro cent (€0.01), the number of points awarded shall be rounded up to the next whole euro.
The amount used to calculate the number of points earned shall correspond to the amount indicated under the "GRAND TOTAL" heading on the purchase receipt.
For example:
- with a TOTAL spend of €54.63, the User will receive 55 points;
- with a TOTAL spend of €60.00, the User will receive 60 points;
- with a TOTAL spend of €104.01, the User will receive 105 points;
VIEWING AND CREDITING POINTS
Users may view accumulated points at any time in the “History” section of the Lidl Points. Points earned following a purchase will initially appear in the App with the status “pending” or “available on”. Points will become available for use on the following day or, in any event, within no more than 48 hours from the time of purchase.
REDEMPTION OF POINTS
Any points accumulated by the User(s) from time to time may be exchanged for one (1) or more reward coupons, entitling the User to receive a free or discounted product, or discount coupon redeemable at Lidl stores, selected by the User from those available in the Product gallery accessible directly through the Lidl Points section at any given time (the “Product Gallery”). Discount coupons may be subject to a minimum purchase amount. Annex A to these Terms and Conditions is provided for illustrative purposes only and reflects the reward coupons available at the date of publication of these Terms and Conditions. The up-to-date Product Gallery is available in the Lidl Points section of the Lidl App. The range of reward coupons available in the Product Gallery may be updated, expanded, or reduced from time to time at Lidl’s absolute discretion. The current list of available reward coupons, together with their points value and specific terms of use, can be consulted at any time in the Lidl Points Product Gallery of the Lidl App. Users may select a discount coupon (being a discount coupon redeemable against the total purchase price) no more than once per calendar quarter.
PROMOTIONAL PERIODS
During certain promotional periods, Lidl reserves the right to offer more favorable participation conditions, including the award of double or additional points for the purchase of certain products or product categories or on customers spending a particular amount in Lidl stores, including in connection with specific promotional or marketing initiatives, even if of limited duration.
Such initiatives will be duly communicated to Users from time to time through digital channels (on the Lidl App and/or on the website www.lidl.com.mt).
REQUESTING AND USING REWARD COUPONS
A User who has accumulated the required number of points may access the dedicated “Lidl Points” section in the Lidl App, select and obtain the desired reward coupon from the Product Gallery by clicking on the “Get Coupon” button displayed underneath each reward coupon. A select number of reward coupons are visible in the Home section of the Lidl Plus and may be obtained by clicking on the “Exchange” button displayed, after viewing them.
The selected reward coupon will then be visible in the relevant “Your Coupons” section of the Lidl Plus and must be used within seven (7) days from the date of the attainment of the reward coupon through the conversion of available points, irrespective of whether the reward coupon is activated by the User or not. Users may select multiple reward coupons from the Product Gallery, subject to having accumulated the required number of points.
The User may activate a maximum of 5 coupons simultaneously referring to the same item.
The validity period and specific terms of use of each selected coupon will be displayed by clicking directly on the coupon, located within the Lidl Plus App in the “Your coupons” section. Each reward coupon will indicate its expiry date. Upon expiry, the reward coupon will no longer be visible in the Lidl App and may no longer be redeemed by the User.
The reward coupon can only be used once, and exclusively for one piece of the specific product which would have been selected from the Product Gallery by the User. Once redeemed, the reward coupon will no longer be visible in the Lidl Plus. The reward coupon is valid solely for the specific product identified in the Lidl App by the corresponding item code. Users must ensure that the product presented at checkout corresponds exactly to the product indicated on the reward coupon.
To redeem a reward coupon in-store, Users must:
- activate the coupon,
- independently collect the product indicated on the reward coupon,
- present the product at the checkout, and
- scan their Lidl Plus digital card prior to completing payment.
EXPIRY AND NON-REFUNDABILITY
Upon expiry of the reward coupon validity period of seven (7) days, the reward coupon shall automatically become unusable and shall not entitle the User to any refund or re-credit of the points used for its redemption, whether in whole or in part. Reward coupons are not convertible into cash.
Points shall expire twenty-four (24) months from the date on which they are assigned to the User’s account. The expiry date of each set of points acquired on a given date is displayed in the Lidl Points section under ‘History’. It is the User’s responsibility to regularly consult the Lidl App and to redeem any accumulated points before their expiry date. Lidl shall not be liable for any loss of points arising from a User’s failure to do so.
Users may redeem multiple reward coupons within the same purchase transaction, provided all conditions of use are satisfied.
POSSIBLE EARLY TERMINATION OF THE LOYALTY PROGRAMME
Lidl reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Loyalty Programme at its sole discretion, including but not limited in the case of force majeure or where circumstances subsist which are beyond its reasonable control, subject to compliance with applicable laws. Material changes to these Terms and Conditions, including the termination of this Loyalty Programme, will be communicated to Users at least thirty (30) days in advance. Existing accumulated points and any obtained reward coupons will be honoured in accordance with the conditions in force at the time of their accrual. In the event of termination of this Loyalty Programme, Users shall be given a reasonable period, as indicated in the Lidl App from the date of notification of such termination to redeem their accumulated points before the effective date of termination.
TECHNICAL DISCLAIMER
Lidl declines all responsibility for any access problems, impediments, malfunctions or technical difficulties relating to the Lidl App arising from the User's device configuration (software or hardware), transmission and connection, internet connection, accessibility and the mobile and fixed telephone network, any incompatibility resulting from operating system updates that may prevent participation in the “Lidl Plus” Loyalty Programme.
STATEMENTS
- The Company declares that it will keep accurate records of the reward coupons redeemed under this Loyalty Programme.
- This Loyalty Programme is conducted in compliance with the Laws of Malta, including the Consumer Affairs Act (Cap. 378) and any and all applicable data protection legislation.
- The complete Terms and Conditions are available on the www.lidl.com.mt website and in the “Account” menu of the Lidl Plus, "Legal" section.
- Any products purchased through the redemption of a reward coupon may not be substituted for another product, whether of equivalent value or otherwise, and do not entitle the User to any refund or reinstatement of points.
- Any coupons obtained cannot be exchanged for any other reward coupons available in the Product Gallery.
- Any reward coupons obtained or any products purchased through the redemption of a reward coupon cannot be exchanged for cash.
- If one or more items included in the purchase that generated points are returned under a conventional 30-day warranty or as a result of an official product recall, the points balance which is available to the User will be reduced by the equivalent number of points previously credited in relation to such purchase. If the relevant points have already been used, the User’s account may show a negative points balance. A negative points balance does not create a financial obligation on the User. The negative balance will be offset against future points earned.
- A User may cancel their Lidl Plus account at any time. Cancellation of the account will immediately result in the irretrievable loss of any accumulated Lidl points.
- Lidl Plus accounts may be automatically de-activated after two (2) years of continuous inactivity. Any points held by the User will likewise be irretrievably lost upon deactivation.
- In the event that a product subject to a reward coupon is unavailable at the point of sale due to stock shortages, quality issues, or any other reason, the Company reserves the right to identify alternative solutions to satisfy the User's request, which may include the re-crediting of points used for the redemption of the coupon. For assistance or reports regarding the availability of a product subject to a reward coupon, Users may contact customer service through the form available at https://customer-service.lidl.com.mt/SelfServiceMT/s/contactsupport, selecting 'Lidl Plus' as the topic and 'Coupons' as the subject.
- The points earned following each respective purchase by a User are personal and may not be transferred, assigned, or shared with third parties;
- Lidl reserves the right to replace reward coupons with others of an equivalent nature, functionality, and value where the product subject to the reward coupon becomes unavailable, including in cases of discontinued production, import restrictions, or updates made by the Company’s supplier/s.
- The Company shall not be liable whatsoever for any improper use of any products obtained through the redemption of a reward coupon by Users or for use by persons unsuitable due to age, physical condition, or mental condition.
INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA:
Lidl Malta Limited (C 36317), with registered office at Vassallo Business Park, Burmarrad Road, Naxxar, NXR6345, Malta (hereinafter "Lidl"), as data controller, hereby informs the customer, pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act (Cap. 586 of the Laws of Malta), that the identification and contact personal data voluntarily provided when registering for the Lidl App or subsequently (namely: first name, surname, date of birth, gender, mobile phone number, email and postal address, and Lidl Plus client ID), as well as the amounts spent by participants in the loyalty programme called "Lidl Plus", will be processed using both automated and paper-based tools, in a manner designed to guarantee their security, protection, and confidentiality through the adoption of appropriate technical, physical, and organizational security measures, in order to allow participation in this Loyalty Programme and the award of any reward coupons, as well as to comply with legal obligations pursuant to Article 6, paragraph 1, letters b) and c) of the GDPR. The provision of personal data is not mandatory, but it is necessary to participate in this Loyalty Programme and to be awarded the reward coupons. Personal data may also be processed should this be necessary when exercising and/or defending Lidl’s or a third party’s legitimate interest in court, pursuant to Article 6, paragraph 1, letter f) of the GDPR. For general information regarding the processing of personal data within the loyalty programme called "Lidl Plus", please refer to the Lidl Plus Data Protection Notice, available within the Lidl App. In compliance with the limits and conditions laid down by the GDPR and the Data Protection Act, the customer’s personal data will be processed within the Lidl offices by collaborators specifically appointed to process personal data. Moreover, the customer’s personal data will be shared with our intra-group companies and affiliates (including Lidl Italia S.r.l a socio unico with registered office at Via Augusto Ruffo 36, 37040 Arcole (VR), Italy and Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG with registered office at Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74172 Neckarsulm, Germany), our agents and third parties that provide services to us as well as third parties to whom disclosure may be required for the customer’s participation in this Loyalty Programme. All such entities are located within the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA), including Ireland and the Netherlands where the server hosting the customer's personal data is located. Personal data will be retained for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected, including the fulfillment of applicable legal obligations, and therefore until the deletion of the user's Lidl Plus account. According to Articles 12-23 of the GDPR, the customer, as the data subject, has the right to receive, free of charge and upon request, the disclosure of information regarding the personal data being processed by Lidl. Furthermore, where the legal requirements are met, the customer has the right to access personal data processed about the customer (art. 15 GDPR), to rectification of information (art. 16 of GDPR), to erasure (art. 17 GDPR) and to restriction of processing (art. 18 GDPR) of the customer’s personal data, to receive the personal data concerning the customer, which the customer has provided to Lidl, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance (art. 20 GDPR), to object to certain data being processed by Lidl (art. 21 GDPR) as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws of Malta. Any disputes arising in connection with the ‘Lidl Plus’ Loyalty Programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court and Tribunals of Malta.
ADVERTISING
This Loyalty Programme will be advertised via the websites lidl.com.mt and the Lidl App, which will be made available to customers, and the advertising message will comply with these Terms and Conditions.
The Company reserves the right to use other suitable means of communication to inform the recipients of the content of this Loyalty Programme.
EXCLUDED PRODUCTS
The following products shall be “Excluded Products” for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions: infant formula, gift cards, phone top-ups, prepaid service cards.
Annex A – Typical list of Reward Coupons
Lidl reserves the right from time to time and without prior notice or prejudice, to change any or all of the products and or content of the coupons.
