Staying visible during the darker months - keeping your child safe
The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting less pleasant and it is particularly important in the dark season that children are clearly visible and therefore safe on the roads. With the right equipment, you can ensure that your child not only stays warm and dry, but above all is clearly visible.

Why visibility is so important
On the way to school, when playing outside or on a bike, your child is always on the road. Especially in the early morning and late afternoon hours, children are difficult for drivers to recognise due to the low sun and long shadows, even though it is already or still light. Bright colours and reflective elements can make all the difference here. A reflective jacket or accessories with reflectors ensure that your child is quickly recognised even in poor visibility.

Tips and tricks for greater safety
- Clever use of reflectors: Even small reflector strips on rucksacks, shoes or caps increase visibility enormously. Make sure that they are attached to both the front and the back.
- Use lighting: Flashing lights or light tags attached to the school bag make children even more visible. LED shoes are also a fun and safe companion.
- Prefer light-coloured clothing: Dark colours absorb the light. Jackets or rainwear in bright colours immediately catch the eye and provide a good basis that you can combine with reflectors.

How reflectors and blinkers work
Reflectors are small safety aids made of special, light-reflecting film or fabric. They reflect the light that hits them - from car headlights, for example - so that the wearer is visible from a greater distance. Unlike luminous elements, they do not require a battery, but simply utilise the existing light.
Flashing shoes, on the other hand, have small LEDs built into the sole that are activated by movement or pressure. With every step, the lights flash or light up permanently. This makes children visible with every step. At the same time, walking is even more fun. Both technologies complement each other perfectly: reflectors are reliable in the presence of external light, while flashing shoes also attract attention and increase safety in road traffic.

Rain, wind and cold - visible weather protection
In addition to visibility, protection from the cold and wet also plays a major role. After all, children are out and about a lot, and even the most beautiful autumn walk is no fun if they are soaked or freezing. Rainwear and robust, warm clothing is therefore a must at this time of year - preferably reflective.
- Hard shell jackets: Waterproof and breathable, reliably protect against wetness and wind. Ideal for rainy autumn or winter days.
- Softshell jackets: Light, flexible and wind-repellent. For dry days and active movement.
- Fleece inner jackets: They are warming and pleasantly soft under hardshell or softshell jackets.
- Outdoor trousers: Robust materials such as Cordura or special synthetic fibres with reinforcements on the knees and buttocks withstand all adventures.
- Rainwear for children: Waterproof jackets and trousers protect against wetness and are best equipped with reflectors so that children can be seen better in the dark season.
- Functional underwear: Special, breathable underwear made of merino wool or functional fibres wicks moisture away from the body, keeps children warm and ensures that they don't get cold, even when they are very active.
- Shoes and boots: Waterproof shoes or rubber boots with non-slip soles protect against wet and slippery conditions. Make sure they fit comfortably, are breathable and provide sufficient support so that your child can walk safely.
Visible, safe and dry through autumn and winter
With the right equipment, you can make the way to school or playing outdoors safer for your child. A reflective jacket, complemented by smart accessories such as flashing lights and robust rainwear for children, provides a functional mix of safety and weather protection.
